Scripps Spelling Bee

Spelling a word

Spelling a word

Today I competed in a round of the Scripps Spelling Bee. I went 18 rounds, including a practice round, before misspelling egalitarian. I spelled it egaliterian.

My other words were:

  • Flemish
  • isobar
  • ambiguity
  • parfait
  • mahal
  • rotunda
  • chintz
  • influenza
  • paradox
  • piccolo
  • asterisk
  • purga
  • credenza
  • maestro
  • inselberg
  • camouflage
  • alchemy
  • femininity

I really enjoyed participating in the bee. I ended up getting 3rd place, but I was happy anyway. As one of my prizes, I got a huge Merriam-Webster’s dictionary!
