August 2011 NaBloPoMo: Publishing A Work Of Fiction Vs A Work Of Nonfiction

“Would you rather publish a work of fiction or a work of nonfiction?”

Fiction, definitely!

I like to write, but I do prefer to write fiction. It lets me use all my weird, creative ideas for characters, plots, settings, etc. Nonfiction is OK, but sometimes I get bored while writing nonfiction because I have to stick to the facts. I can’t make things up for a report like I can for a story.

Maybe I would write a nonfiction book about something like space or prehistoric animals or history or something else that I think is really cool.

But I’d probably write a fiction book. Maybe a book of short stories, like my ‘Old Lady’ stories. I don’t know if I could write a series, though, because I would probably get an idea for another book (that wouldn’t be part of the series) and then I would get busy writing that book. And my series would never get finished.

If you want to read some of my non-blogging writing, post a comment and I will email them to you! 🙂
