This is a little list. It’s about the tiny, ordinary things I can do to be happier. I know doing them won’t lead to a magically perfect life, and neither will they cure my mental illnesses. That’s not the point. The point is that I’m forever thinking I should do these things more often and then forgetting, so I hope that writing them all down in one place will help me to remember better. Plus, I tend to save these activities for very special days even though I recognize that they can be done on the most average of days.
So those are my goals in writing this. I’m keeping this list handy for when I need it in the future. No explanation, description, or justification of what I’ve chosen. Just a little list to refer back to when days are hard.
1. Read more Terry Pratchett books.
2. Try new things with my hair.
3. Have movie nights.
4. Play board games with friends.
5. Sit outside, on sunny or cloudy days.
6. Take pictures of the sky.
7. Read books about reading and writing.
8. Journal without worrying how it looks.
9. Handwrite little notes to my friends.
10. Doodle animals and flowers and space.
