The Sweater Weather Tag

Hello! Today’s post is another tag about FALL! I stole it from Victoria @ Doodles and Scraps. Go check out her blog, it’s one of my favorites!

Enjoy!

What is your favorite candle scent?

Uhhh, vanilla, I guess? I can’t say that I’m all that picky about candles. As long as the scent isn’t overly chemical, I’m fine with whatever.

Coffee, tea, or hot chocolate?

Tea! Tea! Tea! I’m definitely not a coffee person – when I have tried it, I ended up ordering something wherein the sugary flavorings practically drowned out any coffee tastes – and while I love hot chocolate, it’s more of a wintery drink to me.

What is the best autumn memory you have?

Ooh, I’m going to say something completely different from what I did in my fall favorites post because I just remembered my family’s vacation to the Great Smoky Mountains a few years ago! It was during fall break when my brother and I were still in high school. We rented a cabin and spent the whole time reading, eating delicious homemade food, and playing board games. I remember how stunning the leaves were, but mostly I think about how nice it was to really relax and unwind, so that’s so different from what we normally do on vacation.

Which fall trend do you prefer – dark lips or winged eyeliner?

I didn’t even know these trends were specific to fall, which should tell you something about my level of knowledge when it comes to makeup! I think I’ll go with dark lips, however, because even though I don’t wear lipstick myself I’m a big fan of it on girls. I met this woman in Dublin who wore dark lipstick a lot and every time I saw her I melted??? So yea.

Your favorite fragrance for autumn?

I don’t wear perfume, so can I talk about how much I love girls who do? Yeah? Because any and all floral perfumes are A+ scents in my book.

What is your favorite autumn food?

Pie. All kinds. My mom’s recipe for pie dough is the actual best – so flaky and buttery and delicious – and ahhh now I miss her.

What is the autumn weather like where you live?

In both Iowa and Indiana, the temperature tends to be quite warm well into September, like 75oF. Later on, in October and November, the weather ranges anywhere from the thirties to the low sixties, usually. The leaves change colors and fall off the trees, and it often rains a little! It’s definitely chillier before the sun is up and after it has set.

What is your most worn sweater?

Hmmm, probably this black sweater with silvery threads that I have. I actually think the color scheme gives off a more wintry vibe but I won’t say no to wearing it on cold fall mornings either.

Your must-have polish for autumn?

I can tell this tag must have originated on beauty blogs because so much of it is going right over my head. But… purple? Dark purple? Is a good nail color for fall and for always.

Football games or jumping into leaf piles?

Don’t think I’ve ever been to a football game, if I’m being honest. So I’ll have to say jumping in leaf piles, although I’m not sure in what world it’s understood that not being into football means that you love jumping in piles of leaves.

Skinny jeans or leggings?

Leggings are much more comfy! And therefore better. Enough said.

Combat boots or Uggs?

I… don’t wear either? But I would like a pair of combat boots, if for no other reason than that they’ll make me look super fucking gay. Ladies, hit me up.

Is pumpkin spice worth the hype?

What is your favorite autumn-premiering show?

Can I say Carmilla? Even though there will be no more episodes for the foreseeable future? Because I love that show. I love the supernatural school and I love the corny dialogue and I love tiny gay Laura.

*I firmly believe that there will, at some point, be another season even though the show’s creators say there won’t be. People say stuff like that all the tiiiiiime.

What song really gets you into autumn?

I’m going to take this question quite literally and say that, because my birthday usually falls (no pun intended!) on the first day of autumn, “Happy Birthday” carries me into the season. That’s when I know that fall has really started.

Autumn mornings or autumn evenings?

Hhhhhhh bOTH. Waking up bright and early on fall mornings always makes me feel so productive, whether I’m heading off to class or getting ready to spend the weekend with my friends, hiking or decorating jack-o’-lanterns or watching scary movies. And autumn evenings are so lovely… gorgeous and spooky at the same time. They always make me eager to eat something warm and filling, like soup, and crawl under a blanket to read a book and drink some tea!

What do you think about Black Friday?

Chaotic and scary. I’ve never been and I don’t think there’s anything you say or do to ever get me to go. Not even book sales…

Your favorite pie?

Peach! But since it reminds me more of summer… apple is my favorite pie to eat in the fall!
